What's changing at TaxJar

In March 2026 TaxJar published new pricing: subscriptions roughly doubled and AutoFile moved from $35 to $50–55 per return. Existing monthly customers keep legacy rates only until October 1, 2026, when they move to the new rates (source: taxjar.com/pricing, as published Aug 2026). If you file in many states, that change compounds every single month.

Migration

Switch in three steps

1

Export from TaxJar

Download your transaction and filing reports — TaxJar's standard CSV exports are all we need.

2

We migrate your data

Send us the exports during onboarding — our team brings your states, history and filing calendar across for you. A self-serve importer is on the roadmap.

3

We cut over your filing states

$99 one-time setup per state configures your existing accounts, filing frequency and the exact first period we handle — so nothing is double-filed or missed.

What would you actually pay?

Enter your volume — we'll size your plan and compare the yearly total against the per-filing competition.

Competitor prices as published Aug 2026: Numeral $75/filing (numeral.com/pricing); TaxJar AutoFile $50–55/filing plus its Starter plan subscription (lowest plan supporting AutoFile), per TaxJar's 2026 pricing update (source: taxcloud.com/blog/taxjar-price-increase-2026, verified Aug 2026); legacy customers move to these rates Oct 1, 2026. Excludes one-time setup/registration fees on all providers.

Migration FAQ

Can I take my data with me?
Yes — you usually don't need to move files at all. Connect your Shopify store via API and your order data syncs directly into SalesTax50. From your confirmed cutover period we simply continue your filing calendar — next period, next quarter, straight through year-end — without interruption.
How do my past filings connect to new ones?
During setup you tell us the last period TaxJar filed and the first period SalesTax50 handles, per state. That cutover is confirmed in writing inside the product, so nothing is double-filed or missed.
Who is responsible during the cutover?
Your prior provider is responsible for every period through its last filing period; SalesTax50 prepares returns from your confirmed first period forward. The cutover dates you confirm control the split.
